Meaning Of Communication

Introduction

           Communication is an inevitable part of our life. We are born with communication, we live with communication and die with communication. When a baby is born, he or she cries out. Through this crying, the baby gives us the message of his or her arrival in this world. When we die, we say some Dos and Don'ts to the members of our family and other well-wishers. In between these two times, we grow up with communication, and we lead our lives through communication. At every step of our lives whether a child, adolescent, young, adult and old.

Meaning Of Communication

           Simply stated communication is sending and receiving a message. But communication is so all-pervasive in our life that it is really difficult to give a universal definition. Even communication theorist did not completely agree on a single definition. Different scholars defined communication in a different way. Due to the pervasive nature of communication, although they differ in their opinions, the differences lie only with approaches, not with the main theme. They held almost the same view regarding the main issue. This same view is that communication is concerned with all ways of sending meaning (through speaking, writing, drawing, gesturing and such) to others. The following definitions bear the testimony: ''Communication is the process of transmitting meanings, ideas, and understanding of a person or a group to another person or group.''
